At her heaviest Simone Anderson, from Auckland, New Zealand, tipped the scales at 266lbs. The 27-year-old struggled with her weight for 10 years and tried everything from cutting out processed foods to ramping up her exercise regime. But the brunette beauty has revealed how she lost a whopping 14st 4lbs in just 11 months in a candid post on social media.
The glamorous hair and make-up professional explained how she reached her goals after undergoing gastric sleeve surgery. She said in a video: “When I started this I was 23, I started by introducing an hour of exercise per day. “I was 169kg (26st 6lbs) so I was very, very big and I started with an hour per day of walking or swimming – something that was really low impact on my knees. “When the weight started coming off and my strength increased a little bit that’s when I started at the gym.”The slim beauty now opts for a healthier diet based around protein. Simone added: “I was not perfect, I had things like Weight Watchers jelly to substitute that sweet craving going on. “After two months I had gastric sleeve surgery which is where they remove a portion of your stomach and it ranges anywhere from 60 to 90% of your stomach depending on your size. “That was a lifesaver for me. I wouldn’t be where I am, sitting in front of you guys today, without gastric sleeve surgery. “I struggled with my weight for 10 years and it was definitely a last resort and I am so glad I did it and I wish I had gone and done it sooner.”
Simone started exercising one or two hours a day and said the recovery was “easy”. “It’s all personal – I’ve heard so many different outcomes on this one. Please don’t think this is the overall picture but for me it was an absolute breeze,” she added. “I was back at work two days later, I felt like I had eaten rocks because my stomach was really heavy. It was a really, really easy surgery for me and it was a really easy recovery.”
Despite a strict exercise and diet regime, Simone was left with excess skin and underwent a nine-hour procedure in late 2015 – surgery which cost more than £10,000 (20,000 New Zealand dollars). She added: “I went to America to see Dr Richter to have my plastics done. So I’ve had a breast lift and breast augmentation, I’ve had a tummy tuck and I’ve had a bra line back lift. “I can’t recommend him more. His work is flawless and his results speak for himself.”
Simone – who now exercises daily and eats clean 80% of the time – will fly to the US again in coming weeks to have excess skin removal surgery on the lower half of her body. She said this surgery will be the “final stage” of her weight loss journey. “My body will always be a work in progress but I am getting rid of that excess skin that I’ve been tucking into clothes for so long,” Simone explained. “I am at that point where I can say I love it and what it reminds me of is all positive.”
