My name is Sue Bennett, and Dr. Kuri gave me the best gift I ever received, next to marrying my great, supportive husband! I was banded in the spring of 2000. I have lost a total of 75-80 pounds as a result, and it has changed my life!

Before the band, my weight was out of control, and I had tried all the “diets” available only to gain all the weight back plus more! I was very discouraged, and realized, after reading and investigating all the options that the lap-band procedure was going to be my choice, so I began searching on the web for help. I found Dr. Kuri’s website as well as a few others located in Mexico, and I continued researching. One day I decided to just call the office and began the process! The office staff was so helpful, and answered all my questions so carefully. I decided on Dr. Kuri, and I’m so glad I did.

I live in Seattle, though I grew up in Southern California, and had been to Mexico numerous times. At the time of my procedure the US had not yet approved the Band, and I couldn’t wait any longer. I have never regretted my decision! My stay in Mexico was great, and I was in and out of there in 2 days! I stayed in San Diego, California for the week following and traveled back to see Dr. Kuri a week after my surgery to have a checkup. Everything went so smoothly. It was the best experience with surgery I have ever had, and oh, so rewarding! I have only had two fills, and that was within the first few years. I am at my ideal weight now, and am so happy. My life has truly changed. Before, I was depressed and hated myself for all the weight gain, and now I can honestly say, I like the “new me”, and have never looked back!
