I have been wanting to tell my story and how happy I have been with my surgeries with Dr. Kuri. My story is a little bit long, having my first lap band in 2002. I lost over 100 pounds, before my lap band slipped. I had to have a second lap-band surgically placed due to the slippage of my first band. Unfortunately the second lap band never worked as good as the first.
I returned to Dr. Kuri in January 2019 for Gastric Sleeve Surgery. I remember looking at him and saying “Please don’t let me fail”. He said to me “If want to succeed, you follow the rules..” From that day forward, I followed every single rule that he said to me that day.
In July 2021, I had all of my extra skin removed. They took 30 pounds from me! I am just about to embark on a new journey of having my arms and thighs done. But today, I feel better than I have ever felt in my 52 years of living.
Dr. Kuri paved for the way for me. He gave me the love, support, and everything I needed to be able to look forward. I know that there have been many people in my life that said, you will never do what you say. But I’m here to tell you, will power is stronger than fat. My husband has been my greatest supporter, and my heart has been stronger than anything I have ever eaten.
I want everybody to know that the beginning starts with a single step. Find a surgeon, like Dr. Kuri, that believes in you as much as you believe in yourself. After you believe in yourself, you can take the first step.
I left my job of 30 plus years this year to do my own thing and be successful. I am making more than I have ever made, but more importantly, I am living.
