Matt and I are both so very happy that we decided to embark on this journey. Our surgery date was 11/11/2021.
Matt is down 87 pounds. He started in a size 42 pants and a size 3XL shirt. He is now in size 34 pants and XL shirts. I am down 76 pounds. I started in a size 18 pants and a size 3XL shirt. I am now in size 12 pants and L shirts.
Our energy has greatly increased, and I find myself every day making better decisions for my and my families health. Simply choosing to take the stairs at work instead of riding the elevator, and other things of the like have truly made a significant difference. Small steps lead to big steps when all incorporated together.
Matt and I both agree that our progress still feels so unreal. We recommend Dr. Kuri and Associates every opportunity that we are able to! We have gained health and quality of life for our daughter. We gained confidence and comfort.
We used to get frustrated while traveling because airplane seating is so compact and uncomfortable. We took a trip to Cozumel, Mexico approximately four months post-op, and already found ourselves much more comfortable and relaxed while on the plane.
Our favorite stories to tell are when we were taken into the Operating Room, the woman on the right side of the table (unfortunately, I can not remember her name) was a breath of fresh air for the both of us. She talked to me about our upcoming trip to Cozumel and had me imagine the ocean and that they would see me when I woke up. I didn’t fight the anesthesia, I was ready to be unconscious! Matt, on the other hand, told the woman that he would not give in to the anesthesia. She laughed at him, knowing that he was fighting a losing battle. Despite his best efforts, the anesthesia finally got the best of him.
We want to thank Dr. Kuri, JoAnn, Iker, and the rest of the staff for the incredible experience. The first picture is the night before we left for surgery, and the second picture is from May 10, 2022.
