Actress, singer, and fashion model Kelly Osbourne recently revealed dramatic weight loss photos on social media divulging how she shed the weight.
“I did the Gastric Sleeve. All it does is change the shape of your stomach,” she told hosts Dax Holt and Adam Glyn. “I got that almost two years ago. I will never ever ever lie about it ever. It is the best thing I have ever done.”
The 36 year old celebrity disclosed that she had “Weight Loss Therapy”, stopped drinking alcohol, and practiced meditation prior to undergoing the procedure to prepare herself and understand what to expect post surgery. She conceded that surgery isn’t a quick fix, and that people still have to eat right and exercise to lose weight and be successful with the procedure. Osbourne said she “needed to fix my head, before I could fix my body”. She emphasized that losing weight is not a one-size-fits-all problem and said it’s very much an individual path. She decided to share her story stating,
“I never want to lie about anything I’ve done. I always want to share what I’ve done so that people can do it, too.”
Over two years after surgery, Kelly Osbourne has undergone a complete physical and mental transformation. In recent photos she posted to social media, Osbourne looks almost unrecognizable to her former self. In a recent interview on “Hollywood Raw Podcast”, the celebrity TV personality shared her weight loss journey and details of losing over 85 lbs with hosts Dax Holt and Adam Glyn. At a height of 5’2″, the 85 pound weight loss has had a dramatic affect on her appearance, and overall physical and mental health.
“It’s the best thing I have ever done. I will never lie about it, ever.”
Osbourne revealed that almost constant comments about her physical appearance nearly drove her to quit working in the entertainment industry. “When I was fat, I was invisible. They didn’t want to work with me, they didn’t want to do anything with me,” she confided. Her new found weight loss has given her comfort and confidence with her appearance and says she is here to stay.
Osbourne admits she is not “perfect” by any means. “I still make a lot of mistakes. I have bumps in the road, I fall down, I get back up again,” she shared, adding, “It doesn’t solve all your problems. It’s not a quick fix. The kind of surgery I had…if you don’t work out and you don’t eat right, you gain weight. All it does is move you in the right direction,” she said.
In addition to losing weight, Osbourne also quit drinking and has been sober for over 2 1/2 years. “The number one thing I had to do was get happy. You can never go into this if you’re not in a good mindset.”
“What people don’t realize is, [the surgery] cuts out this hormone that if you have addiction issues, it stops your craving and it makes you not emotionally eat, which was a huge problem for me,” she added.
It has been a journey for Osbourne, as she was kind of at a breaking point before committing to the operation. “This has been two years of me working on this, figuring out if I wanted to be in the entertainment industry, figuring out if I was even capable of even losing this weight,” she explained. “I did, and I figured out I wanted to keep going. I didn’t do this for anyone. It was a long process, and now I’m here and everybody is noticing.”
