“I am sad that I missed a decade of happiness, but I am so optimistic for the future. I am going to make up for lost time.”

For twenty years I lived life in the “Fast and Fabulous Lane”. My husband and I traveled the world at others expense through our business. I wore the latest fashions in a size 4 Jr. Petite weighing between 86 and 96 pounds. I thought that I was dreaming.

Suddenly before my eyes, I began to experience Nocturnal Dreams (also known as Night Terrors). These occurrences plagued me from the early 1980’s until late 1990’s at which time I went into extensive therapy. By the turn of the century I was placed on an antidepressant, Zoloft. I immediately began to gain several pounds a month. By 2008 I weighed 167 pounds, almost twice my size of 86 pounds from the 1980’s and 1990’s. I refused to look into the mirror, I destroyed all pictures that were taken of me, and I would not dress or leave the house. My family and business were affected.

In 2007, my youngest sister Teena called to tell me about a fantastic doctor in Tijuana, Mexico, by the name of Pedro Kuri. She said he was the top Lap-Band Surgeon, so I decided to do some research. I also found out that a local Lap-Band Doctor in Little Rock, Arkansas, had trained under Dr. Kuri and highly recommended him! At that time I did not have the money. But, in March of 2008, I received an unexpected check in the mail that was exactly $57.00 more than Dr. Kuri’s total for the surgery. I had no other thought except that God sent it to me to change my life forever. I called and scheduled surgery with Dr. Kuri in April 2008, and drove from Beautiful Southern California to Tijuana for my surgery scheduled for May 20, 2008.

Very soon now I am going to celebrate my second year of “Rebirth with Dr. Pedro Kuri”. I have lost more than 50 pounds and am quickly approaching my GOAL WEIGHT of 100 pounds! Watch out world – this ole gal is about to explode into “the fast and fabulous lane again”! I thank God every day for Dr. Pedro Kuri and the economy turn around. I am sad that I missed a decade of happiness, but I am so optimistic for the future. I am going to make up for lost time.
