Being overweight was what most of my life has been about. I’d lose weight and then gain it back plus a few more pounds everytime. A friend of mine told me she was going to Mexico to have a lap band done…..I did everything I could to try and talk her out of it. Thank God she was set on doing it…..it made me start researching the procedure and different physicians. Everything I could find about Dr. Kuri and his team were absolutely positive and the results of patients with lap bands was impressive….I was sold and decided to have my lap band placement done January 2005. Dr. Kuri was out of town on the days I could have mine done so his partners (I’m sorry but I can’t remember their names) did my surgery and did a wonderful job. Living with the band has been a real learning experience. I’m still learning everyday. Sometimes I find myself ‘forgetting’ some of the rules but knowing that when I do follow the rules and listen to my body/brain with the use of the band…..I don’t put lost weight back on.
